The Plaza Diner in Oneonta

Came here on 3 different occasions for breakfast. I loved that they had the captain crunch French Toast. I come here to visit my friend who goes to school around here. We drive almost four hours to visit our friend and what we look for the most is to come to this diner on Sunday. The 4th time coming here we had this one rude waitress who was so rude I was very suprised . Long story short, she had a attitude from the beginning. Then I found a hair in my toast. She said " I don't know what to tell you." She goes back to the kitchen and comes back and says " go back to the kitchen yourself or we are calling the cops on you." I was mind boggled !! In what world does that happen ? I found a hair and now I'm getting the cops called on me ???

A very good breakfast!

I stopped here for breakfast during a brief visit Oneonta. The server was friendly and helpful. The food was well-prepared and tasted great. I look forward to my next visit.

The breakfast with exception of the potatoes was good. But a good breakfast place has good potatoes and these home fries are duds, absolute duds. Also $30 for 2 meals, then without warning an additional charge for using credit card to pay. No sign or notice mentioned anywhere just a nice little magical charge. Our first visit will unfortunately be our last.

Never again. The waitress messed up my order so I sent it back for the correct order. The cook just took the meat off of the salad and sent it back to me. I was told that they would charge me for another meal if I wanted a fresh salad. Finally got what I ordered. I am so sick now. 🤢Meals were pricey. Not worth it at all. We will not go back.

Excellent service, excellent food. Also, bathrooms were A+

My wife and I stopped in there to grab a nice breakfast. The food was good and the staff was great. We also thought it was cool listening to some of the old locals chilling and just carrying on careless good old conversations. A+ in my book. It’s not always about the food, it’s about the whole experience and atmosphere.

The waitresses are friendly and attentive. the food is okay if a bit overpriced for what you’re getting. For a while they also had a surcharge for “real syrup” with signs all over the walls for it. It was very odd. Based on this I would rate it three stars. However, after stopping and enjoying a meal here many times, i had a seat by the kitchen for the first time and could watch the food being prepared and hear the rapport of the kitchen staff. I saw one cook cracking eggs by hand, wiping the egg hand on the seat of pants, and then using that hand to lift waffles out of the waffle iron, and flip pancakes and touch other food on the grill top. Over and over. Not once did he wash his hands. It was disgusting. He was also condescending to the Hispanic cook and rude to the waitresses. I got the feeling he was the owner. ☹️

Food and service are both very good. Solid choice for breakfast or lunch. This place is great for the basics. Nothing fancy or exotic here.

Love the Plaza Diner, authentic Greek food. Only place I can find a gyro in the area.

It's fine, for a diner. I've eaten here several times because it's conveniently located. I've never had a bad experience. But never have I thought "I want to go to the plaza diner."

5 Star Diner Breakfast, not sure about the rest of the menu. I love their oatmeal with fruit and brown sugar and also the french toast. Could get breakfast for dinner if you want too*. I am not sure about the dinners on the menu themselves, because if I want that kind of meal - there are plenty of other great restaurants to go to in Oneonta, but this is my Breakfast place for sure.

Hungry!? This little place will most definitely fill that feeling. I had breakfast here and the service was very fast. My food came out quickly and just the way I asked. Great place and Great price.

Affordable and traditional diner fare

They wouldn’t put salt and pepper on my sandwich. Instead they put it on the side. At first I thought I was overreacting but then I realized that I’m spending my hard earned money on food. I should at least be able to have it my way right? Wrong!!!! Too expensive for the quality of food people are extreme loud. The waitress was a b**** for lack of better terms but if u want to be told how u want ur food and treated rudely by all mean go to the Plaza diner.

Good environment & AC is on & the service was great,polite ( Wendy ) & Food was plenty & delicious. Life Enjoyed in a little dinner on Main Street in Oneonta NY.

Great service for a 12 top! WoW! Our waitress was so Kind and patient. Takeout is super quick. Decent hours for Oneonta but their winter Hours are kinda bad, the kitchen closes around 8/9. Good Caesar wrap and French Toast! Philly cheese Steak was so-so. I still Recommend !

Great food, atmosphere and service

We went to this place around 8pm, drove around and around trying to find parking. We finally parked up the block and me and my family walked over to this diner, opened up the door at 8:05pm, and the guy there said they were closing up. I told him that his Google listing shows them to be closing at 3am. And his response was that he doesn't know anything about that (as if he didn't care that he wasted our time)...and I said, but this is your listing of your business, if your listing said you were closing at 8pm we wouldn't have attempted to come here.

Great Diner. Very clean, nice restrooms and excellent staff. The only place in town for Greek food, but regular diner fare, too. Lots of choices at reasonable prices, good specials. Breakfast all day. Everything is very well prepared. Quick service. I've been there many times without a single complaint.

Food was excellent, service was fast and efficient, prices were reasonable, and the menu offerings were plentiful and diverse. I would absolutely recommend the corned beef panini!

Coffee is good. Otherwise food is expensive for the amount and quality, (never heard of 2 egg omelets??) and potatoes came out cold. Waitress took them to warm up and came back in 1 minute not sure how she warned them but she took my whole plate. I've been in the food industry for years and the correct thing to do would have been to just bring a fresh side of potatoes. Waitress seemed impatient and annoyed with anything other than an order. Left us our food and never came back. Another waitress had to get a coffee refill and the check.

Always love eating here it's one of my favorite places to eat in town!

There desserts are heavenly, the peanut butter bomb cake was amazing

Absolutely love this place. The food is good and the best part is i can sit outside with my two year old. I ordered the cordon blue sandwich and it was really good and my husband had a burger and onion rings and those tasted amazing too. The staff was really friendly amd my food came super quickly. We definitely recommend this place

I hate this place, honestly, cause of the creep who works here. Would be 5 stars except for him. He followed me to work one day and it's so not cool! And then of course he tried telling me that he loves me, and all of that nonsense and I just had enough, so I shut the door in his face and locked it, obviously, but I'm sure he's still out there, preying on females who look young and innocent. So Mika, if you do still work there, I hope you lose/lost your job cause you are seriously creepy, dude, and 2, you've lost that place a LOT of business!!
